WWE NXT & Superstars Taping Results (SPOILERS)

From Sammy Eanes and WrestlingObserver.com:

Percy Watson beat Tyler Reks.

For NXT Johnny Curtis & Tyson Kidd beat Yoshi Tatsu and Trent Barreta when Curtis pinned Tatsu.

Alicia Fox beat Maxine with Derrick Bateman and his “mom” watching from the ramp.

Bateman won a triangle match over Darren Young and Titus O’Neil to earn a match on Smackdown, at least I believe that was the stips – the audio was a little off at times in the arena. If that’s the case, I found it somewhat ironic because both O’Neil and Young appeared on Smackdown tonight in the battle royal. Bateman did not. O’Neil was more over than I thought he would be. After the match JTG and Tamina came out to tell Bateman that Maxine had left with Johnny Curtis. That jezebel.

Ted DiBiase beat Heath Slater in a quick match for Superstars.

After Smackdown ended, Teddy Long came out and told Mark Henry he had to defend the title against Randy Orton in a cage match. Match went about three minutes until Wade Barrett came out to attack Orton, allowing Henry to escape the cage. Eventually, Orton turned the tide on Barrett, hitting him with the RKO. Orton then posed on top of the cage and spend several minutes going around the entire ringside area shaking hands and signing autographs, especially with kids.

The entire upper deck of the building was blocked off. The lower bowl only had a few rows blocked off and otherwise, everything was full. Almost all the crowd around me consisted of parents and their kids. Part of my was surprised at the ratio. When Raw came to Charlotte a few years ago I saw a much higher number of 20-30 year old guys out watching the show. There was some of that this time, but I’d guess about 75-80% looked like families.

Orton was super over. Sheamus, Cody Rhodes and Mick Foley were also popular. Tons of Zack Ryder chants, especially during commercial breaks. Dusty Rhodes got a nice reaction when he appeared on the screen, as did Goldust.
