WWE Reportedly Planning to Expand B-Show PPVs Once They Go Dual Brand

– WWE is set to increase the length of their “B-show” PPVs once all the PPV events go dual-branded. The WON reports that following the announcement about all PPVs going dual-brand, which is expected to come soon, the company will likely expand the less-hyped PPVs (aka the ones that aren’t Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam and Survivor Series) by an hour to make them four-hour PPVs with hour-long pre-shows.

The reason for the plan is to boost ticket sales, as sales for some of the upcoming PPVs have been weaker. Also, with the cutting back of PPVs over the past year, having single-brand shows meant that there were long gaps in events which meant that storylines had to be slowed down. While some might appreciate the chance for WWE to stop rushing its stories, WWE apparently viewed this as a negative.

The site notes that, as a negative, the new dual-branded status of shows means that some lower and midcard talent will be pushed off the shows and won’t have as much of a chance to shine, as there will be two rosters worth of talent to book on each show. In addition, there will likely be more matches which, even with the hour expansion, will mean less time for each match.
