WWE Smackdown Rating, Viewership Down

– Smackdown was pummeled by fall TV and Major League Baseball, dropping in ratings and viewership this week. Tuesday’s episode has a 0.74 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, off 10% from last week’s 0.82 and equal to the 0.74 rating from two weeks ago. The viewership dropped to 2.323 million viewers, down 9% from 2.542 million a week ago. The audience was the lowest since the June 13th episode had 2.072 million.

This was the first week that Smackdown was up against basically the the full fall season, with ABC premiering their first Tuesday shows. (The CW doesn’t begin airing new shows until next week). The MLH wildcard game won the night among cable originals on ESPN with a 2.13 demo rating and 6.733 million viewers per Showbuzz Daily.
