Joe Warren Suspended Following Failed Bellator 143 Drug Test

Joe Warren has been suspended following his positive drug test for marijuana after Bellator 143. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has confirmed with MMAjunkie that Warren has been suspended for ninety days pending a formal investigation into the test. Warren faces up to a year suspension.

Warren has requested the “B” sample from his test, which was conducted after the fight. When asked for comment, a Bellator spokesperson said, “The Texas Combative Sports Program has notified us that Joe Warren tested positive for marijuana metabolites following Bellator 143, and as a result will be subject to a suspension and a fine, pending a hearing. We here at Bellator MMA stand behind the commission 100 percent in this process.”

A complaint has been filed against Warren, who could face either a one-year probated suspension or a full-fledged one-year suspension. He also faces a fine of up to $5,000.
