Diego Ferreira Explains His New Look at UFC on FOX 18

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum after UFC on FOX 18 (via MMAjunkie), lightweight fighter Diego Ferreira talked about his dominant decision win over Olivier Aubin-Mercier. Ferreira bounced back after two back-to-back losses. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Ferreira on why he changed his look and cut his hair: “I cut my hair because I wanted to look different. My last fight, I had long hair. Like, people were making fun of me. I thought, you know, let’s do something crazy right now. Let’s shave everything.”

Ferreira on his team helped him for the win: “All my team did it. We all did it together. The point of the hair was ‘Let’s have fun. Let’s not look at this like work anymore. Let’s have fun.’ We did it, and I feel good.”

Ferreira on what’s next for him: “I want to take one more fight – I don’t care who it’s going to be. And I want to start calling people out after that. I really want to get in the top-10 as soon as I can.”
