COVID-19 continues to be a pain in the UFC’s side, making another potential venue for UFC 249 in serious doubt as a possibility. As you may know, UFC president Dana White has been adamant that he wants to do the PPV despite the concerns of many regarding the novel coronavirus, even with Khabib Nurmagomedov getting forced out of the main event due to being in Russia and not being able to come back. White has said there are alternate locations in place after Las Vegas did a shutdown, but the expected target=new>leading choice in Florida is unlikely to be available as one of those alternates.

The latest change in stature comes after, as Forbes reports, the state has issued a stay-at-home order and people travelling from Connecticut, New Jersey, New York or Louisiana — all hotspot for the virus — must self-isolate for 14 days. These decrees make the area untenable as a potential host for the show.

There’s no word on whether the UFC still expects to press forward against the increasingly tall odds, and where it might take place if it does. The show is scheduled for April 18th so we’ll likely learn something new.
