Dana White Doesn’t Believe Khabib Nurmagomedov Will Fight Again
Dana White has changed his stance on whether Khabib Nurmagomedov will compete again after talking to him at UFC 257. White spoke during the post-show press event and noted that Nurmagomedov, who he has been saying will return to the Octagon, no longer seems likely to do so to him.
“I did talk to Khabib,” White said (per MMA Weekly). “He told me, ‘Dana, be honest with yourself. I’m so many levels above these guys. I beat these guys.’ I don’t know, but it doesn’t sound very positive. And what he said was, I won’t hold the division up.”
Nurmagomedov announced his retirement following his win at UFC 254, and White said that stance hasn’t changed. He said, “He already retired. He’s basically retired. I’m the one that’s been trying to get him to do one more.”
Nurmagomedov reiterated his stance that he’s done in an interview in November.
