Hawkeye Producer Says There Are More Stories To Be Told With Clint Barton
Jeremy Renner isn’t likely to be done with the MCU once Hawkeye finishes up its run on Disney+, according to producer Trinh Tran. Tran, who is a producer on the currently-airing Hawkeye series as well as other MCU films and shows, spoke with CinePop and said that Clint Barton has a potential future in the MCU beyond the series.
“There are always new stories to be told, especially with Clint Barton,” sne said. “There is so much more to explore. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but it’s amazing to work with Jeremy. He loves his character, He’s the only person who really knows who Clint Barton is. I think there are possibilities. We’ll see.”
Renner is reprising his role as Clint in the series alongside Hailee Steinfeld, who is playing Kate Bishop. The series premiered on November 24th and has been another successful launch of an MCU show for Disney in its first two weeks.
Tran also discussed what makes Clint relatable to viewers, noting his normality compared to the likes of Thor and Iron Man is a big factor. “I think that’s one of the biggest reasons the public likes him,” she noted. “He’s one of the only heroes without superpowers, but he always saves the day. He is an ordinary man. The message is that if you put in the effort, you can do anything. He can be alongside the other Avengers, who can fly and have special abilities, and be able to fight and do whatever it takes to save the world. I think this is very inspiring for viewers. You can make effort and you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.”
