Hiromu Takahashi Hopes He Will Get to Work AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II
– At Sunday’s NJPW Collision in Philadelphia event, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito teamed up in a winning effort against the Bullet Club team of Chase Owens and Kenta. After the match, Takahashi spoke during the post-match press conference about wanting to work AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II scheduled for later this June. Takahashi stated the following:
“Also, since I’m in America, let me tell you this. I couldn’t go because I did it all the time. But there will be this year too. Maybe June, FORBIDDEN DOOR. I really want to go. Today, I had Bullet Club with me, so I didn’t bring Daryl. Well, Daryl Jr. is currently on an expedition to the United States. Should we let him return home in triumph? It’s not a triumphant return home. I wonder if the time will come when we can show the power of Daryl Jr. in USA. No, what do you think? I don’t even know if it’s going to happen or not.”
Hiromu Takahashi was slated to team with Sting and Darby Allin at the first Forbidden Door. However, he was later pulled from the show due to having a fever and being unable to travel.
Meanwhile, Takahashi has another huge career matchup scheduled on May 3. He will challenge IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA for his title at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku in Fukuoka.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II is scheduled for June 25. The event will be held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
