Bianca Belair Recalls Her Black History Month Ring Gear at NXT TakeOver: Portland
– During a recent interview with Ring the Belle, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair discussed her ring gear for her NXT Women’s Championship challenge against Rhea Ripley at NXT TakeOver: Portland in February 2020. Belair wore Black History Month-themed gear for the event. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
Belair on her ring gear at NXT TakeOver: Portland: “Yes, that was a moment. The gear, the accessories, the meaning behind it. Yes. I hope that they make an action figure out of that one day. That was an NXT. That’s crazy. I should recreate something like that for the main roster.”
On creating a legacy and changing the game: “Sometimes I still I have to pinch myself to, you know, understand the gravity of it all. Because I’m just out here just trying to accomplish great things, be unapologetically me, create a legacy for myself and change the game. That’s really what I’m here to do is change the game, and just make it easy for people that come in behind me. I just always think about the people that came before me. None of this would be possible without them laying that foundation. Allowing for it to be a time and space where I felt very safe and very comfortable to go out there and just show up as myself and show up and show out and be unapologetically me and push the envelope and bring my culture to the table.”
At WWE Clash at the Castle, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will defend their tag team titles against the teams of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn and Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark in a Triple Threat Tag Team Title Match. The event is cheduled for Saturday, June 15 at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro. It will air live on Peacock.
