Santino Marella Announces NXT vs. TNA Cage Match

Now we know what that brawl at the end of TNA’s Final Resolution was setting up.

Today, TNA’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella, posted an enraged Tweet in which he stated that in two weeks, the promotions will settle it in a team cage match. The video first appeared on TNA’s X Account.

“This week I’m gonna announce the teams, and this week on Impact, we’re gonna get ready,” he declared. Given the participants in the brawl, most fans expect that the teams might include Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, Tyriek Igwe, and Tyson Dupont on the NXT side, and Matt and Jeff Hardy, Steve Maclin, Mike Santana, and maybe Marella himself on the TNA side. Santana’s appearance at the end of the video strongly suggests he’s in. Marella will presumably clarify the rules this week as well: first fall? Submit or surrender? Texas tornado? elimination? He has options.

Marella unsuccessfully challenged for the NXT North American Championship against Ethan Page back in July. His downfall came shortly after trying to use his old Cobra finisher; will he get more serious in a cage, or can will the snake puppet count as one of the “danger animals” he says his team will be?
