NJPW Road to The New Beginning Results: NEVER 6-Man Championship Changes Hands

NJPW is holding two events at the world famous Korakuen Hall this week. The first took place this morning and featured a title change hands in the semi-main event.

TMDK only managed a fifteen-day reign as NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champions. After winning the championship at Wrestle Kingdom 20 in the Tokyo Dome, the team of Zack Sabre Jr., Ryohei Oiwa & Hartley Jackson lost their first defense to Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Boltin Oleg in Korakuen Hall. Goto got the pinfall over Oiwa in 18:07. Goto & YOSHI-HASHI have already held this championship alongside Tomohiro Ishii & YOH, so they’ve found a lot of success in this division.

-Daiki Nagai beat Zane Jay via disqualification
-Aaron Wolf, El Desperado, Master Wato, Toru Yano & YOH beat House Of Torture (Dick Togo, DOUKI, EVIL, Ren Narita & Yujiro Takahashi)
-United Empire (Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, Great-O-Khan, Jake Lee & Jakob Austin Young) beat Unbound Co. (Gedo, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Taiji Ishimori & Yota Tsuji)
-SHO beat Kosei Fujita via disqualification
-Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Robbie Eagles
-Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) & Oleg Boltin beat TMDK (Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.) (c) for the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championship
-Yuya Uemura & Shota Umino defeated Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii for the IWGP Tag Team Championship Contendership

NJPW’s next Korakuen Hall event will take place tonight/tomorrow morning depending on your location. These events are part of Road to The New Beginning, New Beginning will take place in Osaka on February 11th. As result of the main event, Uemura & Umino will challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship in Osaka.
