Rhea Ripley Says Jade Cargill Impressed Her at WrestleMania 42, Was Happy To Have IYO SKY’s Help

Rhea Ripley got an assist from IYO SKY to even the odds so she could beat Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42, and she loved having her friend there. Ripley put an end to Jade Cargill’s WWE Women’s Championship reign on night two of the PPV, pinning Cargill with a Riptide to get the victory.

Cargill had an assist from Michin and B-Fab in the match, but SKY came down to take them out. Ripley spoke during the WrestleMania 42 Sunday post-show about the joy of seeing her tag team partner come to her aid and admitted that Cargill impressed her in the match. You can see highlights below:

On Her Victory:

“Oh man, just every single flashback over the last month just flooded my brain completely. All the sly comments that Jade would throw my way to try to diminish me and the name that I’ve built here in the WWE. She claimed that she was better than me. She claimed that she didn’t need to do the things that I’ve done, jump through the same hoops I jumped through.

“Look, I’ll give her credit where credit is due, she’s made a massive name for herself. But at the end of the day, she’s going to remember me as the bitch that beat her.”

On If Cargill Impressed Her In the Match:

“I mean look, I’m never going to speak down on someone when they’ve shown me that they can go. And Jade, she brought it tonight. She had me laying on the mat a couple of times.”

On SKY Coming to Even the Odds:

“I was so happy. You know, I didn’t know if she was going to show up. So I actually wrote her name on my wrist tape, because I wanted her by my side no matter what. But as soon as I heard her music, I couldn’t help but emote. I slid in the ring, I got a sudden burst of energy and fire and I just — I was doing the IYO [taunt].”
