Je’Von Evans has made his way to the semifinals of the WWE King of the Ring tournament, scoring a big win in the main event of this week’s WWE Raw. Monday afternoon’s episode saw Evans battle Seth Rollins, Talla Tonga, and Ricky Saints in the main event for in a first-round match in the tournament.
The nearly thirteen-minute match saw Tonga dominate the early proceedings, as Saints allied the MFT member. Tonga delivered a big boot to Saints at an opportune moment early in the bout.
Eventually, the other three were able to wear Tonga down and things settled into a back and forth contest. The finish of the match saw Rollins hit a strong on Tonga on the announce table. He hit a stomp to Saints after missing a first attempt, but Austin Theory came down and pulled the referee out of the ring. Montez Ford cut off Theory and they fought into the crowd, but Bron Breakker appeared and his Rollins with a spear. Saints went to pin Rollins, but Evans hit an OG Cutter on Saints to get the pinfall victory and advance. You can see highlights from the match below.
Evans moves onto the semifinals in the tournament, where he will face the winner of a Fatal Four-Way match between Jey Uso, LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor. That match is set for this week’s WWE Smackdown.
