As noted previously, WWE has announced a new date for the 2026 edition of the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. This is the second time that the date for the PLE has changed. Initially, it was supposed to take place on Saturday, August 29. However, in October 2025, WWE announced that MITB 2026 would take place on Sunday, September 6.

Earlier today, the promotion announced that Money in the Bank 2026 would be held on Saturday, October 10. Despite the date change, the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, retains hosting rights.

While WWE did not reveal the reason behind the date change in its press release, Fightful Select has come up with a report explaining why the PLE has been pushed back by a month. According to Fightful, sources within WWE claimed that the move has been made due to scheduling issues with broadcast partners. The sources claimed that the move to push Money in the Bank 2026 by a month had been planned for well over a month, and several people in the promotion already know about it.

Fightful also spoke to New Orleans officials, who claimed that “things connected to the city,” in addition to the Labor Day weekend, would have driven up prices for fans attending the PLE on September 6.
