LA Knight’s been making the media rounds of late, and one of the stories he’s been telling interviewers involves an impromptu altercation he had with AJ Styles during the buildup to WrestleMania XL. Styles threw a stool at Knight, which led to Knight getting Styles in a headlock. They fought for a little bit, longer than they probably expected because nobody around them was looking to help break it up.

AJ Styles was reminded of the incident on the most recent episode of Phenomenally Retro, and had the following comments on the situation:

On If He Remembers The Altercation:

“Of course I do. I’ve tried to erase it out of my mind. It’s not what I wanted to happen, mind you.”

On What Happened:

“No, it wasn’t supposed to be broken up by security because we didn’t know there was no security there to break up a fight. They didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know it was going to happen. So yeah, it was not a good thing. Just not a good thing. It’s not what I wanted. So I don’t know how much more I should say about that other than the fact that it wasn’t planned. I didn’t want it to happen like that. I just wanted to remain a heel. But then when LA Knight came over and headlocked me, uh oh that’s not good. That’s not a good idea. I was good with walking away and being the hero. Didn’t happen.”

On His Bloody Nose After The Fight:

“You can flick my nose. It’ll bleed. I blew it the other day. It started bleeding. It’s always been that way.”
