R-Truth Reflects On How It Felt To Receive Fan Support During WWE Exit

R-Truth recently weighed in how it felt to get support from the fans during his brief period away from WWE. Truth of course shocked fans when he announced his exit from the company at the start of June last year. The exit didn’t last long, as he signed a new WWE deal amid an outpouring of vocal fan support.

R-Truth was asked about the matter in his interview with Witty Whittier. He noted that the fan support was indescribable and recalled his son’s reaction to the matter. You can see highlights below:

On How the Fan Support Feels:

“You couldn’t find no dictionary that could come up with the words that express how that feels. And it goes back to your question when you said there are people that may be coming to these shows in Ottawa and London that have never been to a show. That’s a good example of what you get to experience. It’s the loyalty, it’s the love, it’s the commitment. It’s the — over a hundred million people reacting, agreeing on one thing, coming together. Just, ‘We riot.’ It was just so overwhelming, man. And it was like, I’ve never felt love like that before in my life, you know what I’m saying? I’m 54 years old, man.”

On How He Sums It Up:

And I always sum it up with one thing my son said to me in the back. When everything happened and he we looked and he saw all the numbers, man. He’s like, ‘Dad, it was worth it'” And just those words, man. It’s like, I’ve missed so many graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, deaths in my family. I’ve missed so much, but I’ve dedicated so much. That type of outpour, just the abundance of love that I was shown, would never ever go unnoticed by me. And it just — when you say ‘The People’s Champ,’ that gave me that title right then and there. And I love the people for that.”
