WWE has announced a new deal with SiriusXM, and a new report has some details on possible changes to Busted Open Radio following the deal. As announced on Thursday, WWE and SiriusXM announced a new WWE Radio channel, which will be dedicated to WWE programming and goes live on Monday. The channel will air on SiriusXM channel 156, replacing Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7.
The new deal puts Busted Open on the WWE Radio channel, which has led to a lot of questions about the future of the previously-independent radio show. Thunder Rosa, who is of course with AEW, is currently a co-host on Busted Open. Both The Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Fightful Select report that Rosa is not expected to continue with the show going forward. Rosa has not appeared regularly in a little while, though she did call in earlier this month for host Dave LaGreca’s birthday.
Both sites also note that it is expected that Busted Open will not be covering AEW moving forward. It is worth noting that LaGreca has said that the tone of the show won’t change and that “They don’t want to change us. When we have to be critical, we’ll be critical. When there’s praise, we’ll praise. That’s what, with this foundation of what we’ve always done, that’s not going to change.” In addition, Bully Ray noted on Twitter that they will not be talking only about WWE, though whether AEW will be discussed has not been addressed.
