Tommaso Ciampa Reveals When He Knew AEW Was the Right Choice

After nearly a decade in WWE, Tommaso Ciampa was tired of never working with the top names. Jumping to AEW once his contract was up has afforded him the chance to compete with the best non-WWE talents, but ut was one he already worked with that made him feel he’d chosen correctly.
Asked on the Battleground Podcast when he first had the feeling of “I didn’t realize I needed that” in AEW, Ciampa immediately brought up the name of Mark Briscoe.
“Sharing the ring with Mark Briscoe right out the gate!” he said. “Continuing that with the no holds barred match with him. That’s a dude that I shared the ring with a good 15 or so years ago.”
For Ciampa, the camaraderie instantly returned, as he said, “this is a fun traveling circus where you can be brothers and family with a group and then as you disperse, you just kind of lose touch with one another, but every time you see each other, you just kind of pick up right where you left off. And that’s kind of how it was with Mark. Uh, and how it’s always been with the Briscoe family. So, that was one of the moments where just being out there with him and doing it with him again, just brought back a lot of memories and it’s always a good time when you’re around the Briscoes.”
