Impact Zone! It’s Thursday Night, which means we are in for a brand-new edition of the delight known as Impact Wrestling! If memory serves me correctly, this is the fourth and final episode that took place from the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario, Canada! Which means that, unfortunately, this will be the last time we hear about SANDMAN HOTELS until the next time they are in Canada lol.
The build towards Bound for Glory continues tonight, as we have an X-Division title match qualifier between Rich Swann and L.J. Cleary, and Maggie aka M by Elegance will defend her Knockouts Television Title against one half of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions in Kiera Hogan. There will also be career implications for Moose, who challenged Frankie Kazarian to a rematch after the events of their match at Lockdown, and if Moose losses, he will have to leave TNA.
Elsewhere, the war between the System and the babyfaces continues, as Eddie Edwards will team with Cedric Alexander to face Ricky Sosa and the Drifter, Elijah. Zoey Serrano will face Harley Hudson in a singles spin to the feud between Zoey/Daria and Indi/Harley, and Leon Slater should have a fairly easy match on the docket when he faces the YOUNGER BROTHER of Nic Nemeth, Ryan Nemeth. All of this and, of course, so much more in store for us tonight!
So, how is everyone doing on this Thursday Night? The Phillies continue to make me insane with their persistent commitment to being mid. But hey, at least I can say they were consistent in the two-game miniseries in Washington by scoring three runs in BOTH games! Someone should teach the Nationals to be more consistent, heh. Eagles SHOULD roll the Titans, but then again, they’ve managed to make these kinds of games look harder than they should be. And as the countdown meter reads, I am FIVE days away from seeing the legendary Cheap Trick in concert, and THIRTEEN days away from the Flyers season opener!
But enough about me and enough about you, let’s get ready to brace for Impact!

We are LIVE (to TAPE!) from Brampton, with Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt on the call!
The intro this week focuses on Moose challenging Frankie Kazarian again and agreeing to put his career on the line again. Oh, and someone found Leon Slater DED on the top of a forklift magically before Matt Hardy has his World Title match against Nic Nemeth, which of course he lost.
I’M READY FOR YOU aka the Title Sequence!
We’re starting off HOT (literally and figuratively speaking!) Hogan and Allie make their entrance, and Iceman says the best thing about Canada is when he gets to fly out of here and over the newly named Lake America. Yikes.
TNA Knockouts TV Title Match: M by Elegance w/the brand (C) vs. Knockouts Tag Team Champion Kiera Hogan w/Allie
Apparently, the ten-minute rule will be enforced on title matches, much like it was in all tourney matches except the finals. Maggie has the early advantage due to her height and reach, but Hogan fights back with a balancing leg drop for a two. Maggie to the apron, Hogan runs in only to get kicked in the head. Maggie to the top rope and she hits the Blockbuster for a two. Maggie sends off Kiera and gives her the rearview. I’m jelly, NGL. Basement dropkick follows for a two.
Maggie stretches out Hogan as Allie tries to cheer her partner and the fans on. Hogan to her feet, but Maggie throws her down by her hair. Cocky cover for a two. Maggie pays for this when Hogan lights her up with kicks and strikes. Running forearms and a missile dropkick from the challenger. Hogan introduces her booty to the face of Maggie and hits the one-legged dropkick for a two.
Hogan looking for Face the Music, but Maggie spins out of it and hits the Codebreaker for a two. Maggie heads to the top, tells the fans to SHUT UP, but she misses a moonsault. Hogan with a running dropkick, Maggie snatches her up, but Hogan rolls her up for a two. Thrust kick, self-defense elbow, but Maggie peels Hogan out of the corner. She hits the sit-down Tombstone for the win!
WINNER: M by Elegance (And still!)
TIME: 5:40
THOUGHTS: Maggie continues to show her singles star potential, and may she have a long and fortuitous reign as Champion. Hogan had a good showing as well in the loss.
RATING: ***1/4
Gia Miller has Leon Slater in the back. Leon might have Nic Nemeth at the PPV, but tonight, he faces his younger brother. Leon says that he used to look up to Nic when he was younger, which makes what he is doing now very disappointing to Leon. And, apparently Ryan likes to attack from behind, so if it’s a fight he wants, it’s a fight he will get, YA GET ME?
SUDDEN BREAK IN PROGESS SUDDENLY!
Impact is brought to us by SANDMAN HOTELS! CONTEST OPEN TO CANADIAN RESIDENTS ONLY EXCEPT FOR QUEBEC!
Mila Moore is on the phone with Mr. Ali when John Skyler walks in. He just wants to check on her after her fight with Tasha last week. Moore says that is sweet, but she has to take this call now and walks away. Skyler confirms my suspicion last week that he wanted to ask Miss Moore out. Frankly, I am jelly.
TNA X-Division Title Match Qualifier: Rich Swann w/BDE vs. LJ Cleary
The bell rings, and Cleary is living a beautiful life lol. Swann sends off Cleary, but LJ keeps sliding underneath Swann and he takes time to pose! Swann has a laugh before he hits a single leg dropkick. CAN YOU HANDLE THIS dance from Swann, but Cleary does with some arm drags. Both men throw dropkicks and we have a standoff!
Snapmare from Swann and a kick in the spine and play time might be over lol. Swann with another big kick to the back of Cleary. Running kick to the side of the head, and Swann mean mugs for the camera! Cleary to the floor, Swann follows and he sets up a chair for Cleary. What a nice guy! Chops from Swann, round and round the ring he goes before kicking LJ in the face lol. Swann resets the account, runs round and round again and hits ANOTHER kick to the face of Cleary. Swann looking to reset the count again, but Cleary heads inside the ring and he catches Swann with a Tope Suicida!
Back in the ring, and Cleary comes off the top rope with a jumping kick that sends Swann to the floor. Cleary follows out with another Tope, but Swann pops up and gives as good as he gets with a moonsault from the top. Back in the ring, Swann hits the Frog Splash for a two. He goes up again, but he misses the Phoenix Splash and Cleary with a double stomp for a two.
Each man takes turns throwing kicks after Swann hits a Rana to LJ. Kicks from both men, Cleary with a kick to the head, off the ropes he comes with the Irish Goodbye Destroyer for a two. Swann to his feet, Cleary with chops, Cleary misses, Swann doesn’t as he hits the springboard CUTTER for a two. Swann with a roundhouse kick to the head, he heads to the top and connects with the Phoenix Splash for the win!
WINNER: Rich Swann
TIME: 8:10
THOUGHTS: Cleary was definitely game in his TNA debut, and Swann’s history with him played into a fantastic match!
RATING: ****
Ricky Sosa is walking. He joins Elijah, who tells him to never listen to anyone who says you don’t belong here. Together, they WALK!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
Promo for Bound for Glory, coming to us from Tampa, Florida on October 11th!
The King speaks! Frankie tells Moose he didn’t want this, but he wanted to call his bluff. He didn’t think in a hundred years would Moose accept his challenge. Kazarian admits that, even when he wasn’t here, he was still watching and he was impressed by Moose. And he wants people in this company who bleed TNA like him, but now he is going to Moose’s dumb ass. You could have taken the L at Chicago and ended it there, but now you have reached the last chapter and painted yourself into a corner with blood. Frankie thanks Moose for his contributions to TNA, and God Speed!
CAN’T STOP THE SYSTEM!
Eddie Edwards and Cedric Alexander w/Alisha vs. Elijah and Ricky Sosa
Elijah and Eddie will start this one. Eddie with wrist control, but Elijah uses the ropes to escape and take control himself. Tag to Sosa, who fires off Eddie and hits a back elbow. Scoop slam and a leaping Senton gets Sosa a two. Eddie takes in Alexander, but Cedric falls victim to a powerslam from Sosa for a one. Elijah is back in; he traps Cedric in the ropes and hits some drive-by knees and hits a draping DDT. Elijah goes to walk, Eddie tries to intervene, but Sosa takes him out with a Tope to the floor! The babyfaces hold the ring as we hit “the break.”
The System try to take control during the break, but Sosa and Elijah isolate Eddie. Sosa with multiple big chops for Eddie. Snapmare, Sosa taunts Alexander, and he hits a dropkick to the spine of Eddie for a two. Like Michael Jordan, Eddie took that personally and he tags in Alexander. Cedric gives Ricky a proper lesson in trash talking. Cedric gets shown up when Elijah tags in and hits a double axe. Elijah knocks Eddie to the floor for good measure.
The fans want to Walk with Elijah as he opens up the southpaw punches. Cedric sent off and he eats a big elbow. Elijah looking for the Highwaymen’s Farewell, but Alisha gets on the apron. Elijah smacks Eddie one, but Cedric hits a German. Cedric with kicks and he tags in Eddie, who mounts the Drifter with punches. Eddie with the most dreaded chinlock as we return from break. Elijah to his feet, he heads to the corner, and he kicks Eddie in the face. Doesn’t matter, though, as Eddie knocks out both Elijah and Sosa.
Alexander in now, and he chokes Elijah against the middle rope. Eddie is back in, and he stalks Elijah and mocks Ricky. Eddie chokes out Elijah, and he takes the ref so Alisha can choke him out. Alexander back in as the fans chant, WE WANT SOSA. Quick tags from the System, Eddie to the top rope, but he jumps right into a big knee strike from Elijah!
The fans get what they want when Sosa gets the tag. He fights off both Eddie and Cedric, including a cool spot where he rolls up Cedric, pops up and hits Eddie with a CUTTER. Sosa with a corkscrew kick and a spinning powerslam for a two. Elijah is back and he takes Cedric spinning before dropping him to the mat. Moonsault from Sosa, but Eddie saves Cedric. Elijah is going to walk, but here come Myers and Bronson! Elijah throws himself into both System members! Sosa sends Eddie from the ring, and he lines up Alexander with the HEADSHOT for the win!
WINNERS: Ricky Sosa and Elijah
TIME: 12:10
THOUGHTS: Sosa getting the shine is the right call, as he has a lot going for him. Elijah played his part, and despite the System losing the match, they got their heat back after the match.
RATING: ***1/2
Post-match, the System are poor losers, as Eddie hits Sosa from behind with a chair and a package piledriver. Alisha gets her ride-or-die a mic. Eddie takes a seat and he tells Ricky that he has been wrestling longer than Sosa has been alive. He has seen a million Rickys, but when the lights are the brightest, they fade out. And since you don’t seem to get it, Ricky, then Eddie wants to face Ricky at Bound for Glory. Eddie wants to know if Rikcy belongs in their locker room or not.
Video package for the Righteous. Brandon turned them down, but now, he is going to have to face them. Dutch and Vincent implore Rich Swann and BDE to roll the garden dice, and they will be happy to walk into whatever match it is that they want. YOU DIG WHAT I’M SAYING, MAN?
The injury report is brought to us by Sportsnet Canada 360!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
LET’S GO (AWAY), HUNK!
Leon Slater vs. TNA World Tag Team Champion Ryan Nemeth w/HIS BIG BROTHER!
Nic will join the guys on commentary for this match. Jeez, for being mad and insinuating that Ryan attacked him, he is definitely showing off a lot lol.
Nemeth misses a chop at the bell, and Slater lights him up like a Christmas Tree. Recoil enziguri and a springboard CUTTER from Slater. Ryan to the floor, Slater hits him with a crossbody block. Slater gets in the face of Nic, and he pays for it when Ryan catches him with a draping DDT for a two. Apparently, Nic’s father gave him a one-million-dollar loan when he was younger. I wonder where I heard that from lol.
Ryan grinds the match to a halt with a chinlock, Slater to his feet, but Ryan sends him into the corner shoulder first. Stalling DDT from Ryan for a two while the guys make fun of Zilla Fatu and his NYMPHO BABY line lol. Slater comes back to life with a corkscrew kick and Slater comes to life. Slater to the top, Ryan avoids it, but he can’t avoid the SUPERKICK from Leon! Running splash to the back of Ryan, Leon spins him right into Utopia! Slater to the top rope, Swanton 450 connects and Leon takes it!
WINNER: Leon Slater
TIME: 4:45
THOUGHTS:It felt like this was 4:45 too long for a Ryan Nemeth match, but the obvious result had to be obvious with Slater winning here.
RATING: ***
Post-match, Nic leaves the desk and attacks Slater from behind. Ryan quickly recovers like he didn’t get crowned with a Swanton 450 and he throws Slater into Nic so he can smack him with his title belt.
We see John Skyler walking with two roses in the back. In the distance we see Mila Moore on her phone. Skyler hides out, but we hear Mila saying she would never go out with anyone who looks like John Skyler, and she doesn’t know why he would ever believe that. Our main man, dejected, drops the roses and walks away.
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
Moose is in the back when we return. He’s been thinking about what he has accomplished in TNA, and some might say he has had a Hall-Of-Fame career. He questions putting his career on the line against Frankie, but a man gives his best when his back is against the wall. At Lockdown, you didn’t get the best of Moose, but tonight, you will get the best of Moose. You will find out tonight why HE Is the face of the franchise!
Zoey Serrano is out with the head of security. Apparently, he isn’t out here for Zoey’s sake, he is out here to keep her away from everyone. I dig it.
Zoey Serrano vs. Harley Hudson
The bell rings and Serrano throws Hudson to the mat and does Scott Steiner approved pushups. Hudson bounces off the ropes and hits a springboard head-lock takeover. That was unique. Zoey kips up and kicks Hudson in the face and backs her to the corner for some chops. Hudson sends off Zoey and hits a running back elbow, but Serrano throws her into the corner and chokes her out with her boot. Serrano stalks Hudson, she misses a chop, and Hudson lands chops. Serrano stops that and takes Hudson down into a grounded choke. Hudson rolls free, but Serrano switches to the dreaded chinlock.
Harley frees herself and lands some strikes. Hudson off the ropes with multiple pump kicks and a headbutt! Serrano gets up and close with the booty of Hudson not once, not twice, but thrice! I am very jelly. Hudson gets a two on the pin. Hudson picks up Serrano, but Zoey elbows her way free. Hudson rolls up Serrano for a two. Hudson comes up empty in the corner, Serrano with a forearm and she leaps back into the ring and hits a German. Over the knee neck breaker from Serrano for a two.
Serrano has Hudson up, but Harley counters with a Code Red for a two. Tom insists it is a Code Pink because of Harley’s hair color, so we’ll go with that. Hudson slides out of the ring and drops Zoey face-first on the apron. Harley with a leg drop and back in the ring, she gets a two. Serrano with a kick to the side of the head, Hell and Back (the former Z-28) gets Zoey the win!
WINNER: Zoey Serrano
TIME: 4:15
THOUGHTS: Zoey wasn’t losing this match, but give credit where it is due, Hudson gave her a lot of flak and grief.
RATING: ***
Daria Rae is here post-match. This is why she brought Zoey to TNA, but she doesn’t think that Harley learned her lesson, so finish her! DIAREHA chants, SHUTUPSHESTALKING! Zoey goes to kill Harley, but she scurries away when Indi Hartwell makes the save! Indi has the mic, and she wants to know if this is what we’re doing. Anytime you don’t like someone, you’re going to send your killer after them? We won’t stand for this, but Daria says you don’t have a say in the matter. Zoey grinds up against the Security guy, and again, I’m jelly.
We see Moose and Frankie getting for the main event, coming to us next!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
Promo for Impact next Thursday, which will be a LIVE show for those keeping score at home.
It’s the King of TNA against the Face of TNA! But first, as always, we get the obligatory pre-main event break!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
Frankie Kazarian w/Avery Styles vs. Moose
If Moose losses, then he will be forced to leave TNA for good
The bell rings when we return, and Frankie goes for the Chicken Wing straight away but Moose escapes. Moose looking back splash, but Frankie rolls him up for a two. Frankie says he was THIS close to beating Moose, and he shoves Frankie. Kazarian to the floor, but he pops back in with a Springboard DDT, and the Springboard leg drop for a two. Kazarian heads to the top rope, but Moose catches him and Frankie goes to Hell for a two.
Moose lines up Frankie, who is on the apron, and he kicks him to the floor. Moose waits for Frankie to get to his feet, but Frankie avoids. Frankie looking springboard CUTTER, but Moose holds on to the ropes and hits a CUTTER of his own for a two. Moose smacks Frankie with a knee to the head, he heads to the top rope, but he jumps into a CUTTER from Frankie that gets him a two.
During the break, Frankie and Moose struggle to suplex the other on the floor. Moose ends up throwing Frankie into the ring steps knee-first. Moose breaks the count to head back outside and he chops Kazarian one. Moose chops Frankie so hard he goes FLYING across the floor lol. The fans chant ONE MORE TIME, and Moose obliges! Moose again breaks the count, and he sends Frankie into the ring steps on the other side of the ring. Moose picks up Frankie, but Kazarian escapes out the back door, and he shoves Moose into the ring post.
AVERY STYLES chants as both men are back in the ring, and they collide with dueling lariats in the middle of the ring. Both men get back to their feet, and we get forearms from downtown. Chops from both men now, Moose says SCREW YOU, FRANKIE. Frankie with clotheslines but he can’t know Moose down. He does roll him up for a two. Urinage countered by Kazarian, Moose with a pump kick, Frankie bounces back with a lariat. That pin is just a one, Cotton!
Kazarian with strikes to the head, but Moose is powering up! IS THAT ALL YOU GOT, FRANKIE? SCREW YOU says Moose and he levels Frankie with a big headbutt. SPEAR from Moose, but Kazarian rolls out of the ring and to the floor. Moose gets too overzealous and he lines up Frankie for another SPEAR, but Frankie back drops him through the table!
TNA chants, as Kazarian gathers himself and returns to the ring. Moose begins to stir at five; he crawls at seven and makes the heroic return to the ring at nine! Frankie is belligerent and he hits a baseball slide to Moose and kicks him to the apron. Apron DDT from Kazarian, who rolls Moose back into the ring. Frankie looking for and hits Fade to Black, but Moose kicks out at 2.8! Frankie is in shock as he tries to regain his wits about himself.
Kazarian locks in the Chicken Wing and Moose is flat on the mat. Moose rolls the other way, but he starts to fade out. Referee Frank Gastineau checks, but Moose is still alive! Moose rolls through and gets a two. SPEAR from Moose, but Frankie kicks out at 2.5! Moose again looking SPEAR, but Frankie catches him. Reversal, Kazarian off the ropes, mid-air SPEAR! FOUR SPEARS, AND MOOSE IS STILL IN TNA!
WINNER: Moose
TIME: 16:45
THOUGHTS: It would have been crazy if Moose did lose her, especially since he pretty much stated that he was happy in TNA and wasn’t concerned about going to WWE/NXT. This one felt like it could have gone either way, but when hie back was against the wall, Moose prevailed.
RATING: ***3/4
Post-match, Moose slides a chair into the ring, but he’s not going to hit Kazarian with it. No, because Moose grabs Frankie’s crown and he smashes it into a flat pile of refuse! Frankie is livid, Moose celebrates, and with that, we are done!
