More Details On Possible Plans For Penta Following Roman Reigns Match

WWE may have changed up its plans for Penta following his match with Roman Reigns on WWE Raw, according to a new report. As noted, the battle between the two for the World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14th episode has drawn great feedback from fans and resulted in strong viewership on Netflix. Reigns retained his championship, but fan support for Penta was very strong and he earned a spot in the men’s Money in the Bank match when he replaced a kidnapped Solo Sikoa on this week’s Raw.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that according to sources, many people in creative viewed the match as a “one-and-done” at the time of the bout, but that may have changed. Several people within the company’s creative believe that there is justification for a rematch both creatively and from a business perspective. Sources in creative said that Penta is a “heavy favorite” to win the Money in the Bank match. That was apparently not the plan as of WWE SummerSlam.
WWE Money in the Bank takes place on October 10th from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams have qualified for the men’s bout in addition to Penta.
