Konosuke Takeshita Qualifies For Clockwork Carnage On AEW Dynamite

Konosuke Takeshita is headed to AEW WrestleDream, beating Brian Cage in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier on AEW Dynamite. The second qualifuying match on Wednesday night’s episode featured Takeshita and Cage as they sought to move onto AEW WrestleDream and a shot at Will Ospreay’s AEW World Championship.

The two started off trading strikes, with Takeshita sending Cage to the floor with a rana. Cage quickly came back though and used his strength to dominate his former stablemate for a while, until Takeshita took over with a German suplex.

The match continued to shift in momentum between the two until the finish when Takeshita countered the Drill Claw into a sleeper. Cage got free but took a knee strike followed by a Dragon sleeper, which led to him tapping out at just under 12 and a half minutes.

You can see clips from the AEW Dynamite match below. Takeshita joins Ospreay, Samoa Joe, Mike Bailey, and Adam Copeland in the match, with three more set to qualify tonight. We’ll have an updated lineup for AEW WrestleDream after the combined Dynamite & Collision concludes.
