David Finlay Claims That AEW Pay Is Better Than NJPW Pay

AEW stars The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay) were the guests on the latest edition of What Happened When. During the interview, David Finlay spoke about how the team enjoys working in AEW.

David Finlay explained that enjoys working in AEW and has no complaints. He stated (via Fightful), “I like it. I get to kick ass and be with my boys. Different city, twice a week. What’s not to like? I get to mess with you [Schiavone] on TV and make your life miserable. Life is good. Nothing to really complain about.”

Connors added, “The money. I like the money, too. A lot of it.” Finlay also responded, “Yeah, AEW money is way better than New Japan money.”

David Finlay parted ways with NJPW earlier this year, signing with AEW a short time after. Clark Connors also signed with AEW at around the same time.

The Dogs were recently in action at last Saturday at the Tailgate Brawl for AEW WrestleDream 2026 over the weekend. They competed in a 12-man tag team match, teaming with The Death Riders against the Bang Bang Gang and The Conglomeration. The Death Riders and The Dogs scored the victory.
