Grayson Waller Retains NXT Championship Against Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc, To Defend Against CM Punk This Wednesday

Grayson Waller triumphed over Tony D’Angelo in the main event of NXT Halloween Havoc 2026 to remain the NXT Champion, but the Aussie Icon was immediately confronted by his next challenger.

The final stages of a highly physical back-and-forth match saw Tony attempt Dead to Rights at ringside, but Waller managed to counter it with a Cutter through the commentary table.

However, he gave D’Angelo enough time to recover and hit the Chokeslam variation once Waller got in the ring. However, Waller was able to hold on to the ropes and break the pinfall attempt.

A frustrated D’Angelo grabbed a crowbar, but before he could use it, the referee got in the way. The ensuing argument allowed Waller to push Tony into the referee. Waller grabbed the crowbar and swung at D’Angelo, who ducked and responded with a Spear. However, the referee was still knocked out.

Waller rolled out of the ring and clocked D’Angelo with the crowbar. He followed it up with a Cutter and secured the pinfall. However, before he could celebrate, Danhausen appeared and informed everyone that CM Punk had a message for Waller. Punk appeared on the screen and announced that he’ll be challenging Waller for the NXT Championship on Wednesday, November 4.
