Jake Paul’s opponent for the upcoming boxing match has been confirmed. As noted, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced last week that Paul would have a match in Dubai, UAE, on Christmas Eve.
Earlier today, the promotion announced that Jake Paul will battle Cédric Doumbé at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 24. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Sunday, November 15.
This will be the first time that Jake Paul will step into the ring since being knocked out by Anthony Joshua last December. Meanwhile, Doumbé will have his first boxing match since April 2015. The 34-year-old, who made his name in kickboxing (63-7-1 record), is 1-0 in his boxing career. In MMA, he is 6-1.
Below is the announcement:
“JAKE PAUL NEVER DUCKS SMOKE. 💨🥊 Big names. Bigger risks. No easy fights. Jake Paul has never been afraid to step into the fire, and this Christmas Eve is no different. 🎅 On December 24, Jake takes on French knockout artist and multi-time kickboxing world champion Cédric Doumbé in Dubai. Jake Paul said the following regarding facing Cédric Doumbé next month [via Fightful]:
“Cedric … was calling me out two years ago after knocking a guy out in nine seconds. Well, now you get your chance. I’m rusty, my jaw isn’t quite right and I don’t have kickboxing world titles like you do. But this isn’t kickboxing, mon ami. This is boxing. Just like (Ukraine’s) Oleksandr Usyk feasted on Rico Verhoeven, I’m going to eat you for dinner in Dubai on Christmas Eve.”
MVP has yet to provide broadcast details for the fight. 411Mania will update as and when it’s available.
