Back in the summer of 2022, Funko announced a partnership with 10:10 Games to create a new AAA, action-platform Funko-based video game. New details on the game were finally revealed today at Comic-Con International. 10:10 Games and Funko officially revealed the official story trailer for the upcoming action-adventure game, Funko Fusion! The new game trailer was revealed during Funko’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. You can check out the newly revealed trailer debut below.

The game stars the icomparable Clancy Brown, who portrays the devious villain Eddy, the deeply twisted and powerful shapeshifting counterpart to the Funko mascot, Freddy Funko. With dreams of total domination, Eddy holds the dark ability to possess the inhabitants of Funko Fusion’s pop culture-inspired worlds, and he builds an army of corrupted characters inspired by such franchises as Jurassic World, Back to the Future, The Thing, Chucky, and more.

In Funko Fusion, it will be up to players to strike back against Eddy by building their own team of playable heroes. Each one will have their own unique tools for use in both combat and puzzles. The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Robert Kirkman also joined the panel today as a surprise guest to reveal about the inclusion of Skybound Entertainment’s Invincible and The Walking Dead in the game. He also revealed the first look at an Invincible-themed level in Fusion, along with playable characters Invincible and Omni-Man, along with The Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes and Michonne.

Also on hand for the panel were 10:10 Games’ CEO and founder Jon Burton, along with co-founder and Head of Publishing Arthur Parsons; Funko’s VP of Licensing & Business Development Jason Bischoff; Monkeypaw Productions’ Creative Director and Jordan Peele’s producing partner Ian Cooper. Cooper revealed that NOPE is being brought to life in video game form for Fusion. Additionally, Kellen Goff appeared during the panel, announcing that he will reprise his role as Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy in the game.

Funko is also planning a special line of Fusion-based Funko Pop! figures based on select in-game characters. They will be available at a later date starting this summer at FUnko.com and select global retailers. The game will also feature in-game bonus character and outfits that collectors will be able to unlock by redeeming codes including with their Funko Fusion Pop! figures, including Mecha Freddy and so-called “Variant” outfits for Funko fans, such as the Slime Pit variant for He-Man. This content, as well as over 60 characters and their range of Variant outfits, will be included in Funko Fusion.

Funko Fusion is currently in the works for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It will be hitting PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 13. This will be followed by releases on PS4 and Switch on November 5.
