May 6, 2020 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Anderson Silva has undergone knee surgery, and provided an update to fans including a promise to finish out his UFC contract. The former middleweight champion posted a video to Instagram that you can see below, in which he says (translated by MMA Fighting) that he’ll be doing his two remaining fights on his contract.

“I finished my knee surgery,” Silva said. “I will recover now. I’m fine, and wanted to thank everyone’s support, and (thank) my fans that cheer for me. I’ll be 100 percent soon, and do my two fights in the UFC. I wanted to thank every UFC fan. I finished my surgery and everything is fine, I’m going home. Thanks.”

Silva’s last fight was a loss to Jared Cannonier at UFC 237 last May.
