Latest On Saudi Arabia Plans For WrestleMania 43

WWE is still reportedly planning to hold WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia amid the concern over military conflict in the Middle East. As has been reported, there has been a lot of internal chatter about the company’s planned WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh as the US Department of State issued a level three travel advisory for Saudi Arabia earlier this month, advising citizens to reconsider traveling to the country. Some areas of the country are under a level four advisory, which means that US citizens are advised to leave the country. However, WWE has not yet formally acknowledged the situation to staff.

Whatever the plans for WWE Crown Jewel end up being, PWInsider Elite reports (per Wrestling Inc) that WWE is moving “full steam ahead” with plans for WrestleMania 43 in the country. The report notes that the dates for the show are set, though they have not been revealed publicly and are being kept quite.

The report goes on to say that WWE will have a contingency in place should things go in the wrong direction and will be working with privately contracted security experts in the Middle East for safety concerns. WWE representatives told WWE that it is “too soon” to consider a potential domestic location for the PLE at this time.

Finally, in regard to Crown Jewel, WWE does have some contingency plans for an alternate location should things between the US and Iran deteriorate further. No word on what those plans are.

WWE Crown Jewel is set to take place on November 7th and, as previously reported, WWE is locked into that date with ESPN.
