Conor McGregor Arrested, Charged With Felony Over Altercation With Fan
Conor McGregor has been arrested on charges of strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief in Miami Beach, Florida. The Miami Herald reports that McGregor was arrested after the incident on the charges, the former of which is a felony.
According to a police report, McGregor and a fan were separately walking out of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel just after 5 AM on Monday morning. The fan tried to take a picture with his cell phone, after which McGregor allegedly slapped the phone out of his hand and stomped on it several times. He them apparently picked up the phone and walked away with it. The phone was valued at $1,000.
The outlet notes that the whole incident was captured on surveillance video and that after investigating, detectives found him at a home in Miami Beach where he was arrested. McGregor has been vacationing in the area. TMZ reports that McGregor is being held on $12,500 bail.
The arrest comes shortly after McGregor completed his community service portion of his plea deal for disorderly conduct in relation to his infamous assault on a fighter bus after a media day for UFC 223 in April of last year.
