Dana White Says Brock Lesnar Isn’t Out of UFC Title Picture After UFC 232

December 30, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Dana White discussed Brock Lesnar’s future in the wake of Jon Jones’ UFC 232 title win, which could have implications for Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier. Lesnar has been targeted for a fight with Cormier early in 2019, but Cormier vs. Jones has been a heavily speculated fight and could be Cormier’s last bout as he’s said he will retire in the spring after one more fight. Highlights are below per WZ:

On if Lesnar is out of the title picture: “No, he’s not. He’s not out of the picture.”

On whether the UFC could sign Lesnar: “Absolutely. I think he’s already under contract with me.”

On Lesnar’s future in the UFC: “We were talking about it, and then he ended up signing a new deal with WWE. What I think happens is that he’s in a very unique position, because he can play this thing between UFC and WWE. They get right down to the wire, and I think Vince throws so much money at him that he goes ‘alright, I’ll do it again’. Because this is here no matter what. When he’s ready, he can come in here and fight and he’s gonna make a s***load of money here too. So it makes sense. I assume that’s what’s going on.”
