Dennis Bermudez Explains Call-Out of Frankie Edgar

August 17, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Dennis Bermudez spoke with MMAjunkie for a new interview following his win over Rony Jason at UFC Fight Night 92. Some highlights are below:

On honing his skills: “I don’t feel too much of an urgency. I’ve just been – especially while I’m actually fighting. I’m getting there. We just take our time, and do it right, not make any mistakes. At this level of competition, like my two losses are just – one little mix-up, and now you lost the fight. We’ve been more cautious and not careless and brawling too much. I was definitely looking to mix it up with Rony. I didn’t feel like I was being tentative or running around too much. I was just sticking to the gameplan and using movement to land strikes on him.”

On calling out Frankie Edgar: “I wanted to fight both (Ricardo Lamas and B.J. Penn). Now they’re fighting each other and I was like, ‘Man, what the heck?’ But I think I’m right there at the top, so – right where I want to be.”

On having the world record for lemon juice consumption: “If someone breaks my record, I’m going to reclaim the throne.”
