Derek Brunson vs. Antonio Carlos Junior Set for UFC 227

The UFC has officially announced a new middleweight bout for UFC 227 later this summer. At middleweight, the surging Antonio Carlos Junior will face No. 7-ranked Derek Brunson.

Antonio Carlos Junior is on a five-fight winning streak. That includes three straight submission wins. He last defeated Tim Boetsch by submission at UFC on FOX 29. Meanwhile, Brunson looks to bounce back from his knockout loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC on Fox 27.

UFC 227 is set for August 4. The event will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The event will feature TJ Dillashaw defending his bantamweight title against Cody Garbrandt in a title rematch. The main card will be broadcast live on pay-per-view. Prelims will be shown on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
