Hello everyone and welcome to 411mania’s LIVE coverage of UFC Fight Night: Evloev vs. Murphy, I’m Robert Winfree and I’ll be your host for the event. The UFC is back in London for this event and they brought a lot of natives along with them, though we did have a couple of weight misses. Only one will be relevant here but Luana Carolina missed weight by 8-9 pounds which meant her fight with Mullins got canceled, that’s Carolina’s third time missing weight in the UFC though to be fair Mullins has also missed twice during her UFC tenure. But the main event is a really good featherweight clash between Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy, the winner should absolutely get the next crack at Alexander Volkanovski’s title, though given how the UFC feels about both guys it might still go to Jean Silva because the UFC just does whatever they want. Beyond that Michael Page is usually fun and Sam Patterson is on a nice finishing streak, Iwo Baraniewski is going to kill a man, Christian Leroy Duncan looks to become ranked, and both Kurtis Campbell and Danny Silva have the makings of good prospects. On the prelims the UFC debut of Losene Keita is definitely noteworthy, Mario Pinto is making strides as a rising heavyweight, and Shanelle Dyer might be a decent prospect for strawweight. So let’s hope for some good action to go along with a decent enough Fight Night on paper.
UFC Fight Night: Evloev vs. Murphy comes to the world from the O2 Arena in London, England. We’ve got John Gooden, Michael Bisping, and Paul Felder on commentary with Bruce Buffer announcing and Charly Arnolt as the roving reporter. The newer rules should be in effect here and we’ll be in the larger 30 foot cage. Instant replay would be the only major question mark as the specifics around it tend to vary pretty wildly from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but the new definition of a downed fighter is still not fully being utilized though 12-6 elbows seem to have been pretty universally adopted by now. Anyway let’s get to the action. OK we get an update on instant replay, it’s always available and a fight can be restarted after it’s used. So I think they’ve got about the right way to go about using it in MMA.
Before we get going I’d just like to express my condolences to the family and friends of martial artist and actor Chuck Norris who passed away on Thursday.
Shanelle Dyer is coming into her UFC debut off a losing effort on the Contender Series, but with the general state of women’s MMA she could still start proving herself a prospect with a win here. Ravena Oliveira has gone 0-2 in the UFC and missed weight for this fight, she really needs a win as 0-3 with a weight miss as well could spell the end of her time with the promotion. The odds have Dyer as a heavy favorite at -550 to Oliveira’s +400.
Strawweight Bout: Shanelle Dyer (6-1, 116 lbs.) vs. Ravena Oliveira (7-3-1, 116.5 lbs.)*
ROUND ONE: Dyer is an inch taller while the reach is identical, plus Oliveira missed weight. Dyer moves forward early as both women feint. Oliveira misses a couple of punches then Dyer lands a calf kick. Another calf kick from Dyer. Oliveira rushes forward but can’t find anything. Bit of a body jab from Oliveira but she misses the overhand right. Dyer lands another calf kick. A few more calf kicks from Dyer as she blocks punches. Dyer peppers in some jabs now as she’s getting more reads on Oliveira. Oliveira has more punches blocked, she’s also a hair out of range with these so she’s just landing to the elbows and arms. Another calf kick from Dyer, that one might have bothered Oliveira just a bit. Oliveira tries a takedown and settles for a clinch. They jockey for position on the fence and trade knees to the body. Eventually they break with an elbow from Dyer. Right hand from Dyer. Dyer has some kicks blocked then Oliveira with a bit of a one two to end the round.
SCORECARD: 10-9 Dyer
ROUND TWO: Back to more of the same, Dyer chipping away with leg kicks and showing a few body kicks as well. Dyer swings Oliveira down with a double collar tie and she lands punches to the downed Oliveira until the ref steps in.

Mic time for Dyer, she plays with the crowd a bit and is happy to get the finish. Asked about the future she wants anyone in the division.
This doesn’t include the right hand that starts things, but it’s still a nice finish from Dyer HERE.
Shem Rock had a seven fight unbeaten streak broken in his UFC debut when Nurullo Aliev kind of beat him everywhere, but he’s got a decent fan base in the UK and now looks to avoid his first losing streak plus get that all important first UFC win under his belt. Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady is coming off of a loss in his UFC debut a little over two years go, he’s had four fights fallout since then, but now looks to get that critical first UFC to his name. Close one here but the odds tilt towards Rock at -125 to +105 for Al-Selwady.

Louie Sutherland lost his UFC debut last year to Valter Walker but now he’s back in action and hoping to avoid his first losing streak while getting his first UFC win. Brando Pericic is on a three fight winning streak including his UFC debut last year, now he’s looking to build his first UFC winning streak and firmly establish himself as a prospect in the division. The First Round Finish Club thanks Mr. Pericic for his work. Mic time for Pericic, he puts over Sutherland then thanks God and his parents as well as the UFC brass as well as a post fight bonus. Once again the UFC doesn’t like that. He says he’ll give part of his bonus to one of his followers then wants on the upcoming Perth card. Askes more specifically about that card he’ll fight anyone ranked.
Quick work for Brando Pericic 😤

Antonio Trocoli has gone 0-3 in the UFC and in a fair world would be fighting for his job here, the UFC isn’t fair though so who knows how long they’ll keep him around even if he loses. Despite my editorializing there Trocoli really needs that first UFC win and he’s likely running out of chances to do so. Mantas Kondratavicius brings a three fight winning streak into his UFC debut and now he’s trying to make the most of his only chance at leaving a first impression on the audience. Kondratavičius is among the bigger favorites on the card at -800 to +550 on Trocoli.
Middleweight Bout: Mantas Kondratavičius (8-1, 185 lbs.) vs. Antoni Trocoli (12-6 1 NC, 185 lbs.)
ROUND ONE: Trocoli is three inches taller with four and a half inches of reach advantage, Kondratavičius is 9 years younger though. Both men swing punches early. Left hand from Kondratavičius. Trocoli gets a clinch and pushes things to the fence. They stall out a bit as Trocoli is holding. Kondratavičius with a few short elbows, nothing serious though. Eventually Kondratavičius spins Trocoli into the fence and lands a few short elbows. They break without incident. Bit of a flurry from Kondratavičius then a front kick. Body jab from Kondratavičius then he misses a right hand. Right hand from Kondratavičius. Trocoli grabs a clinch in space and fails at a throw then Kondratavičius pushes things to the fence again. Some short lefts from Kondratavičius land. They break without incident after a bit. Kondratavičius gets back to pushing forward and throwing combinations. Knees from Kondratavičius in a clinch and they hit the fence again. A few punches from Kondratavičius land as he’s got Trocoli on the fence. They break without incident then Kondratavičius fires a combination. Right hand from Kondratavičius lands to close the round.
SCORECARD: 10-9 Kondratavičius
ROUND TWO: Kondratavičius with a flurry early, then an elbow in the clinch floors Trocoli. Trocoli is cut around the right eye, he fights upright but Kondratavičius is on his back and lands some punches. Another elbow from Kondratavičius as they get chest to chest. Trocoli fails a throw attempt then Kondratavičius pulls free. Jab from Kondratavičius, Trocoli’s right eye is a problem. They split jabs then Trocoli clinches again. Kondratavičius with a knee to the groin, Trocoli gets the time out as replay confirms the low blow. I’m betting Trocoli takes a lot of time, if he continues at all considering he’s losing. Ultimately Trocoli takes a little over a minute then we’re back. Calf kick from Trocoli. Kondratavičius with a combination of punches. Trocoli throws back then eats a counter. Trocoli fails a takedown and Kondratavičius pushes him to the fence again then knees the body and head. Both of Trocoli’s eyebrows are cut now it looks like. Kondratavičius lands an elbow. Right hand from Kondratavičius, Trocoli looks for a level change but Kondratavičius defends then he rides Trocoli down to a knee. Kondratavičius with punches from the ride position, both men are visibly fatiguing now though. Kondratavičius gets the back and tries a choke as the round ends.
SCORECARD: 10-8 Kondratavičius, 20-17 Kondratavičius overall
ROUND THREE: Jab from Kondratavičius then Trocoli lands a couple rights. Left hand from Kondratavičius, Trocoli then fires a knee into a clinch on the fence. Trocoli is half going for a double leg but Kondratavičius is defending and yanking him up the body. Another level change from Trocoli, Kondratavičius is still defending though. Eventually Trocoli is able to kind of ride things down into half guard. They move around in slow motion but Kondratavičius is able to stand and gets to the back of Trocoli standing. Knee to the head from Kondratavičius then some punches as they break. Trocoli tries another takedown, and again that stalls on the fence. Both men are kind of fatigued here and things stall long enough for the ref to break them up. Trocoli tries another double leg and again that hits the fence. Not much going on again, just a few small knees and the ref breaks them up as Kondratavičius took a knee to the groin. Kondratavičius doesn’t take much time then we’re back to fighting. Both men with some jabs then Kondratavičius lands a right hand. Kondratavičius keeps pointing at the mat, then he stuffs a takedown and pushes Trocoli over to get on top. Hammer fists from Kondratavičius, Trocoli kicks him off then he’s made to stand with 3 seconds left which is just enough time for Kondratavičius to land another punch before the round ends.
SCORECARD: 10-9 Kondratavičius, 30-26 Kondratavičius overall
OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Mantas Kondratavičius via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-27 x2)
I guess Trocoli might have gotten the third, maybe? Not giving Kondratavicius a 10-8 second round just seems like a categorical error though. No interview for the winner.
Mario Pinto is undefeated including two wins in the UFC which has seen him start to emerge as a prospect, given how talent starved heavyweight is these days that’s a good thing. Pinto is about ready begin the difficult move from prospect to contender and another win here would line up nicely for a step up in class next. Felipe Franco took this on fairly short notice but he’s on a two fight winning streak and could announce himself as the next heavyweight to take notice of with a win. The ref tells them to work, he could break them up frankly. Knee from Pinto. Some more body to head punches from Pinto as he’s keeping Franco pinned on the fence. Things stall again but this ref isn’t nearly as active as the prior one so Pinto is allowed to stall. They move off the fence then Pinto is able to push free. The first round going to Franco is probably correct. No interview for Pinto.
Nathaniel Wood has been with the UFC since 2018, and since moving to featherweight in 2022 he’s gone 6-1 only losing to Muhammad Naimov. Wood is trying to finally get a step up in class towards ranked opponents and if he can get his current winning streak to four here then he should get that his next time out. Losene Keita is on a five fight winning streak coming into his UFC debut, he’s a former featherweight and lightweight champion in Oktagon and he’s looking to make a big statement with a win over a veteran like Wood in his UFC debut. It’s a little surprising to see Keita as a -275 favorite, that +220 comeback on Wood looks like a tempting value bet.

Can’t complain about 29-28 either way there. No interview for Wood.

If something beats that for Fight of the Night we’re in for something special because that fight ruled. Jones gets an interview and he puts over Sola’s toughness then talks about perseverance and wanting to get to the top. He again puts over Sola and loves bringing a fight for the fans then wants to fight again this year. To close he says last time leaving London started a tough time as he left the UFC but he found out who had his back and again talks about working hard for your dreams.
The close of the fight here, this was a gem and look it up if you missed it.

The main card opens with a “In Memory of Chuck Norris” graphic for the martial arts legend who passed a couple of days ago.
Kurtis Campbell is undefeated and makes his UFC debut on the back of a Contender Series win last year, now he’s looking to remain perfect and start gaining valuable experience. Danny Silva has gone 2-1 in the UFC with his only loss coming via decision to Kevin Vallejos, though his other UFC wins were both via split decision. Silva is looking for a more definitive victory here to prove that he’s a rising prospect. The odds are with Campbell at -240 while +195 on Silva has to tempt some bettors out there.

They wrestle around and Silva fires a few elbows then a knee to the head as they stand. Campbell pokes out punches but Silva digs the body then lands a right hand. OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Danny Silva via TKO, punches, at :31 of Round 2
Mic time for Silv after our first stoppage in a bit, he says the plan was pressure and breaking down Campbell then he jokes about finally knocking out a scouser. He says things have been tough since the Vallejos loss which he feels was a close fight, and people left him after that but now fighting in London has been great and he’s happy to have succeeded. Asked about the future he needs money and would like a bonus but could be ready to fight in July.

Roman Dolidze has gone 9-4 in the UFC and most recently had a three fight winning streak broken in dramatic fashion when Anthony Hernandez beat him from pillar to post before choking him out in the fourth round. Dolidze is trying to avoid another losing streak here and prove he’s still a deserving contender. Christian Leroy Duncan has gone 6-2 in the UFC but he’s on a three fight winning streak with the last two being emphatic finishes, now Duncan is trying to move from prospect to contender by taking the ranked Dolidze. The odds are firmly with Duncan at a hefty -450 to a +350 comeback for Dolidze.
Middleweight Bout: #11 Roman Dolidze (15-4, 186 lbs.) vs. Christian Leroy Duncan (13-2, 186 lbs.)

Some weak punches from Dolidze, he’s trying to open up a choke but that seems unlikely at this point. That’s where the round will end.
SCORECARD: 10-9 Dolidze, 29-28 Duncan overall
OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Christian Leroy Duncan via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
Duncan gets an interview despite the fight being not very good, he expected the awkward fight and worked hard on escaping everything and returning damage. He’s happy with the win and wants to be ranked after this and expects to get back in the gym very soon. Asked about the future he wants anyone ranked above him.
Iwo Baraniewski is undefeated including a memorable UFC debut when he won a back and forth slugfest, now he’s looking to not only remain undefeated but also keep his first round finish record in tact as all of his professional fight shave ended in the first round. Austen Lane has gone just 1-4 with 1 No Contest in the UFC, that one win being a wrestle fest with Robelis Despaigne. Lane is dropping down to light heavyweight looking to break his two fight losing streak and hopefully breathe some life into his career. The odds are heavily with Baraniewski at a big -700 to Lane’s +500 payout.

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Iwo Baraniewski via TKO, punches, at :28 of Round 1
The First Round Finish Club thanks Mr. Baraniewski for his work, even if it was the most predictable outcome. Mic time for Baraniewski after that quick win, he likes getting first round finishes but is ready for a full fight if it happens. He jokes about wanting to show off his judo base at some point, then when asked about the future he is happy and goes into Polish which is untranslated.

Movsar Evloev is undefeated including being 9-0 in the UFC, he’s largely been held back by injuries and visa issues plus the fact that he hasn’t had a finish since his 2018 in his last pre-UFC fight. Evloev could force the issue though with a win here and almost certainly finally get a shot at the featherweight title. Lerone Murphy is also undefeated with his lone pseudo-blemish being a draw with Zuaira Tukhugov in his UFC debut, Murphy is coming off of one of the better knockouts of last year when he brutally stopped Aaron Pico with a spinning back elbow. Another win for Murphy here and it could be him who gets the next shot at the title. Evloev closed at -250, surprisingly high to my eyes while +205 on Murphy provides some pretty good value potential.

Mic time for Evloev, he talks us through some of the gameplan and puts over Murphy and notes he showed more of his game tonight and doesn’t have to just rely on wrestling. Asked about the title shot he thanks Volaknovski for mentioning his name several times and now tells the UFC there’s no excuses to keep him out of the title fight.
Murphy gets an interview as well, he apologizes for the loss and says he’ll be back and thinks Evloev deserves the next title shot. He’s asked about his hip, he says his left hip popped but that’s not an excuse and he’ll be back better. Evloev closes by putting over London after all the work he had to do to get here.
Well on that note UFC Fight Night: Evloev vs. Murphy comes to a close. We’ll be breaking down all the fallout from this event on the 411 Ground and Pound MMA Podcast on the 411 youtube channel, plus looking ahead to next week when the UFC is in Seattle, Washington with Israel Adesanya vs. Joe Pyfer as the main event.
