Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega Reportedly in the Works for UFC 231
The recently delayed title fight between UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway and title contender Brian Ortega is reportedly in the works for UFC 231. MMAjunkie reports that both Hollway and Ortega have verbally agreed to reset their title fight at UFC 231, which is currently set to be held at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in December.
Per the report, neither fighter have signed bout agreements for the title matchup yet. However, the fight is expected to be finalized very soon. The UFC has not publicly announced or confirmed the title fight.
The two featherweight fighters were originally scheduled to face one another at UFC 226 last month. Max Holloway was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury. Brian Ortega is undefeated in the UFC and his MMA career and looks to secure his first UFC Championship. Max Holloway looks to earn his first UFC title defense.
UFC 231 will be held on December 8 in Toronto. The main card will be broadcast live on pay-per-view. Prelims will be shown on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
