Phil Davis Discusses His Bellator 200 Win, Wants a Title Shot
Bellator MMA fighter Phil Davis spoke to reporters in a media scrum (via MMAjunkie) after his win at Bellator 200. Below are some highlights. Davis defeated Linton Vassel by knockout in the third round for the fight card.
Phil Davis on wanting to fight for the title again: “I want the belt back – it’s as simple as that. I will absolutely fight for an interim title. I will fight for the undisputed title. But the fact of the matter is, I want that belt back, and I want it as soon as possible.”
Davis on the match-up being Scott Coker’s decision: “At the end of the day, I don’t make the decisions. (Bellator President) Scott Coker and his team of guys make the decisions that are best for the promotion. My job is to shut up, win fights and be as exciting as possible. So I don’t want to say this, that and the other and have them not fulfill that. I want to do my job and win fights.”
