Scott Coker Addresses 50 Cent’s $2 Million Offer to Khabib Nurmagomedov
As previously reported, rapper 50 Cent made an offer to UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov of $2 million to fight in Bellator MMA. Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently in dispute with the UFC following the brawl that took place after the main event at UFC 229. Bellator President Scott Coker addressed the 50 Cent topic at the post-fight press conference for Bellator 208 last night. Below are some highlights (transcript h/t MMAjunkie).
Scott Coker on 50 Cent: “He called me yesterday and he said, ‘Hey, what’s going on with this?’ I said, ‘Well, the commission’s involved. There’s a lot of steps to that whole situation.’ I’d like to just – I told him, ‘Hey, let’s just stay clear of it because that has nothing to do with Bellator, it has to do with the commission and the fighter and the league.’ So that’s their business.”
Scott Coker on not being able to control what 50 Cent says: “I think what he means by that is like him as a manager. 50 Cent, when he’s talking to an athlete, that has nothing to do with Bellator. I can’t tell 50 Cent what to say or not say, believe me.”
