Thales Leites Wants a Rematch With Krzysztof Jotko After Win Over Sam Alvey

April 23, 2017 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum at UFC Fight Night 108 (via MMAjunkie), UFC fighter Thales Leites discussed his win over Sam Alvey. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Leites wants a rematch with Krzysztof Jotko: “I won’t lie, I would like a rematch with Krzysztof Jotko, who (beat) me in my last fight. Of course the victory was all his credit, but I want to do it again. I want to fight with him again. I know he has a fight coming up, a tough fight coming up (with David Branch at UFC 211), but maybe in the future.”

On why he wants a rematch: “Me and my team, we studied a lot of his game and all these fights, and we saw that he has rock hands, that he has a good chin. We saw that the key was keep the distance and work my leg kicks and body kicks and head kicks. That’s exactly what I did, and it works, and I didn’t stop.”

On his win: “It means a lot for me, of course, but it shows not only to me, but to the world, to the UFC, that I’m still in the game. I won over a guy who (came) with four straight wins. My goal now is, of course, take a rest and come back.”
