UFC In Talks For January 16th Card to Air in ABC

The UFC may be ringing in 2021 with a return to network television. According to MMAjunkie, the company is making plans to air its January 16th Fight Night event on ABC.

The event, numbered as UFC Fight Night 184, is headlined by Max Holloway vs. Calvin Kattar. The site notes that four sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed the plans. The UFC has yet to make an official announcement about the show.

The event would be the first UFC card to air on ABC. ABC is a sister network to ESPN and its various networks, where the MMA giant’s non-PPV cards normally air.

It’s not yet clear how many fights would air on ABC and what bouts would air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN+. The show will take place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
