Avatar: The Last Airbender Animated Movie to Receive October 2025 Theatrical Release
During today’s Paramount Pictures studio presentation at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas, Paramount & Nickelodeon Animation President Ramsey Ann Naito announced the details on a new theatrical, feature-length movie based on the iconic animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, that’s currently in the works. The new feature will feature the return of the classic characters from the first animated series, including Avatar Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko. It’s due out for an October 2025 theatrical release.
The presentation did reveal some new artwork, and it looked to feature the original characters are now all grown up and much older. So, the story looks to be set some years after the end of the original animated series, where Aang defeated the Fire Nation and Fire Lord Ozai, bringing peace to the land.
Animation veteran Lauren Montgomery (Voltron: The Legendary Defender, Young Justice), who worked on the original animated series, is serving as director for the feature. Series co-creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino are producing the project.
The currently untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender animated feature will be hitting theaters on October 10, 2025.
