Aziz Ansari decided not to attend the SAG Awards, where he was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. TMZ reports that Ansari did not attend the award ceremony on Sunday night despite the nomination, following allegations that broke last weekend by a woman who says he pressured her into sexual acts and initially wouldn’t let her leave.

Ansari corroborated the woman’s story in a statement and said it was “completely consensual” by all indications and that “everything [seemed] okay to me” before she contacted him via text the next day. He added, “I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.”

William H. Macy won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in Shameless.
