Batista to Star in, Produce New Action Thriller Traphouse

Batista is set to star in and produce a new action thriller that he’s developing with his longtime manager. Deadline reports that the actor and former WWE star will topline Traphouse, which is being written by Fast & Furious creator Gary Scott Thompson. Batista and Jonathan Meisner have been working on the project “for years,” Batista told the site.

The film follows an undercover DEA agent and his partner who embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious, and surprising group of thieves — their own rebellious teenagers, who have begun robbing from a dangerous cartel, using their parents’ tactics and top-secret intel to do it.

Batista will produce along with Meisner through their Dream Bros Entertainment company, teaming up with Signature Films on the film. Batista added, “We’re thrilled to be working with Marc and his team at Signature to bring it to life, and in Gary, we’ve found the perfect writer to infuse our original fast-paced action movie with tons of heart.”
