Black Adam Eying The Rock’s Jungle Cruise Director Jaume Collet-Serra
According to a report by Observer, filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra is currently the top choice for Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema to direct DC’s Black Adam, which would star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the titular antihero, who was referenced but was never fully shown in this year’s Shazam film.
Per the report, Collet-Serra is currently in talks with the studio to helm the upcoming film. If he signs on, he would re-team with Johnson, who stars in Collet-Serra’s upcoming film, Jungle Cruise, based on the Disney ride and due out in July 2020.
Adam Sztykiel is currently writing the screenplay for Black Adam. Johnson has been attached to the project for over 10 years and will produce the film with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia under the Seven Bucks Productions banner, along with Beau Flynn’s FlynnPictureCo. Scott Sheldon is overseeing the project for FlynnPictureCo.
Black Adam does not yet have a release date.
