Bryan Fuller hasn’t given up hope of a new season of Hannibal, and discussed his optimism during a reunion video. The cast and crew appeared in a video reunion for Nerdist House and Fuller discussed the idea of a potential revival.

“I am very hopeful,” Fuller said (per Bloody Disgusting). “The great thing about the idea that if we are going to be meeting [back up with Hannibal and Will] and it takes five, six, seven years or what have you, that’s just how long they’ve been on the lam. Then the story picks up from that point. And we’ll adapt.”

Asked about what his dream would be for the fourth season, Fuller said, “It’s very sort of sunny and sweaty, as compared to the cold, harsh realities of Toronto. I think it would be fun to go sunny and sweaty and beachy. A whole new temperature to the cinema.”

He added that the idea of bringing Silence of the Lambs’ story into the fourth season remains an option, even with CBS’ Clarice being in the works.“It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the show moving forward, and whether…if there ever is to be a Silence of the Lambs miniseries with this cast,” he said.

The show was cancelled after three critically-acclaimed but low-rated seasons on NBC. The show garnered an intense fan following that has contiuned since its cancellation, and all three seasons began streaming on Netflix recently.
