Bryan Singer To Direct Red Sonja
September 18, 2018 | Posted by
Deadline reports that Bryan Singer is in talks to direct the upcoming Red Sonja remake for Millennium Films. Avi Lerner and Joe Gatta will produce. The project has been in development for ten years, with both Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan attached in 2008. The original 1985 film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and made under $7 million at the box office.
This will be Singer’s first directing project since he was fired from 20th Century Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody and his studio offices were shut down. He didn’t show up to the set and claimed he asked Fox for time off due to an ill parent. He was replaced by Dexter Fletcher in the final weeks of shooting, but got final directing credit.
