Bryan Singer Reportedly Negotiating $10 Million Payday to Direct Red Sonja
Bryan Singer is set to earn some serious money in order to direct Red Sonja. Singer is reportedly negotiating a $10 million payday for the film, according to THR.
The news is particularly surprising considering that, according to the site, there appear to be no studios competing for his services. This is due to a couple of issues with Singer as of late. The first is that Singer was sued in December of last year by a man who claimed Singer raped him when the plaintiff was seventeen. That accusation contributed to his removal from FX’s Legion as an executive producer.
The second issue is that Singer was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody toward the end of the film’s production due to his “unexpected availablity” causing a break in production. Singer said in a statement that he needed time to care for a sick parent.
Millennium Films is producing Red Sonja, which will re-adapt the character and has been development for ten years.
