Warning: Spoilers follow for Captain Marvel.

The end credits sequence for Captain Marvel nearly featured a callback to the events of Thor: Ragnarok. Empire spoke with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who said that an early plan for the second post-credits scene featured Yon-Rogg (Jude Law) ending up on the planet of Sakaar after being sent back into space by Carol Danvers.

“There was an idea on the table about having Jude Law…emerge from his pod on Sakaar,” said Fleck, “and then have him look around and see the Devil’s Anus behind him and wonder, ‘Where the hell am I?’”

Ultimately, the duo instead went with the second post-credits scene we see in the film, which has the “cat” (aka flerkin) Goose jump up on Nick Fury’s desk and spit up the Tesseract. As for Yon-Rogg…well, safe to say we’ll probably see him again at some point. Like Loki and Crossbones, the villains who survive to the end of films generally do show back up.
