Carrie Coon Is Playing Proxima Midnight in Avengers: Infinity War
It’s less than two weeks before Avengers: Infinity War, and new cast members are still being announced. Variety reports that Fargo star Carrie Coon will voice and did motion-capture for the film as Proxima Midnight, a member of Thanos’ Black Order.
Joe and Anthony Russo, who are directing the film, initially revealed the news in an interview with Radio Times. Coon then confirmed the report on Twitter, as you can see below.
Proxima Midnight cameoed in September 2013’s New Avengers #3 before making her first full appearance alongside the rest of the Black Order in Infiniity #1 a month later. Created by Jonathan Hickman, Proxima is the wife of fellow Order member Corvus Glaive and was sent by Thanos to retrieve an Infinity Gem from Earth. She has enhanced strength, speed and endurance and wields a spear forged from a star that can be turned into poisonous energy that follows its target anywhere.
Avengers: Infinity War releases on April 27th.
