Chris Hemsworth Plans To Stick With Marvel After Thor: Love & Thunder
Thor: Love & Thunder will be the first time a hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets a fourth solo outing, as Thor remains one of the original Avengers to hang around after the events of Avengers: Endgame. In an interview with Elle Man, Chris Hemsworth said that he has no plans to exit the Marvel Cinematic Universe like his co-stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. have. Here are highlights:
On reading the script for the fourth Thor: “After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. For sure in this production there will be a lot of love and a lot of lightning (laughs). I’m glad that after all that happened in Avengers: Endgame, I’m still part of the Marvel Universum and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can’t reveal anything about the plot, but to satisfy your curiosity, I will say that reading the script I had a lot more fun than on “Thor Ragnarok”, and that shows something, because this movie was brilliant.”
On if he plans to retire from the MCU: “Are you crazy ?! I’m not going into any retirement period (laughs). Thor is far too young for that. It is only 1500 years old! It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.”
On whose idea it was to have Luke Hemsworth play the actor playing Thor in Ragnarok: “Hard to say. We sat at my house with director Taika Waititi, Luke and Matt, drinking a beer one evening, and I don’t remember if I or he suggested that it would be fun if the guys showed up on this project. In some tiny but very twisted scene. And that’s how it happened.”
