The CW has given a pilot order to their long-in-development Charmed reboot, as well as to supernatural cop drama Dead Inside. Variety reports that both shows have earned pilot orders for the broadcast network.

The Charmed reboot was originally planned for the current season and would have been set in the 1970s, but was pushed back in order to be redeveloped. The new version will be set in the present day, based on a story by Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Urman. Urman will executive produce with Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, who will write the script. CW vet Brad Silberling will direct and executive produce with Ben Silverman.

Meanwhile, Dead Inside will tell the story of a cop who survives an explosion that killed her brother, who was a detective. His ghost appears and they work together to solve crimes and help both living and dead victims. They also have to figure out why his ghost is still here. The show will be executive produced by Katie Lovejoy, Doozer Productions’ Jeff Ingold and Bill Lawrence, with Warner Bros. Television. Lovejoy will write the script.
