Dead by Daylight Movie Officially In the Works
Dead by Daylight is headed to the big screen, with a film adaptation of the survival horror game in the works. Variety reports that Behaviour Interactive is partnering with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse for the movie, which will be based on the asymmetric horror game.
The multiplayer video game sees four players take on the role of survivors who are trapped in a locale, where they are being stalked by a horror slasher who serves a dark force known only as The Entity. The killer must eliminate all four survivors, sacrificing them to the Entity, before they can fix generators around the setting that power a door our.
The game has partnered with several known franchises from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and A Nightmare on Elm Street to Stranger Things, Silent Hill and more to bring their killers into the game, but they also have a host of original killers — some of whom are takes on tropes like The Hillbully and, but many others who are wholly original like The Huntress, The Legion, The Trickster, The Artist and more. Each of the original killers has their own backstory and lore, and the survivors also have backstories as well.
No official casting or plot synopsis has been announced for the film, as the companies are searching for a director and writer.
